Dogs keep doing their business all winter long. Keeping up your yard poop free will help create an overall healthier environment at the place you call home. Trust us, you will really thank us during the spring thaw!
The winter months present unique challenges to the dedicated poop technicians, and as much as we would love to keep your yard clean and on schedule, there are necessary adjustments we have to make to our normal scooping policy at this time of year. As long as the weather remains manageable, we can usually keep close to our regular schedule. Our vehicles will go out no matter how cold it is. And if it happens to snow on your regularly scheduled day, which is rare for this region, we will scoop you on your next scheduled pick-up. Keep in mind that if poop is hidden in the snow or frozen to the ground, we can’t pick it up; it will be removed (weather permitting) on your next scheduled pick-up. Once the storm has passed, please make sure that all access to your yard is cleared of debris and snow so that we can enter safely. We scoop poop, we don’t shovel. If there is no path to your yard, we will have to skip your clean-up until the next scheduled day. Also, sometimes fence gates freeze. We can’t force open a gate for fear of breaking a latch or letting a dog loose. We’re well aware that your pets often have to change their poop patterns during the winter months. Our poop technicians will adjust to this and scour the accessible areas in your yard to pick up the waste where your dog was able to go during their poop pattern changes. If you have to change the area entirely (i.e., from the back to the front yard), please call (757) 738-8090 or email the office ([email protected]) to inform us and we’ll change the scooping instructions.
Important note: If we’re hit by a major winter storm and have to skip your scheduled day, there are no credits given for these skipped days. The next time we come to your yard there will be twice the amount of poop, so the workload is still the same. In the event that you want to put on hold for the winter months, you must call the office a minimum of 3 days prior to your scheduled service day to inform us. Please be advised that there will be a spring clean-up fee upon your re-start – and most winter poop accumulations can exceed multiple buckets. And once you go on hold, the customers that stayed with us during the winter months will have priority clean ups when the snow melts or the weather changes. For that reason, we highly recommend not putting your account on hold. The fact is, our standard winter policy works in your favor. Whatever the season, we want nothing more than to efficiently clean up your yard. Thanks for working with us at MUCHO POOPO dog waste removal (416 Shell Rd. Chesapeake, Va 23323; (757) 738-8090) to make sure there’s no dog poo on your shoe!
We will work in most weather, except major snow, extreme cold, black ice conditions or heavy rain, which may stop us. In most cases, yes. We get along well with dogs; however, there are some cases when a dog will not let our poop technicians into the yard. If you know that your dog is not good with strangers, or it becomes apparent that your dog will not allow us to clean the yard, then we ask that you restrain or confine the dog. If the Dog will not allow us to clean the yard, you will be charged for the scheduled call. We will not take unnecessary risks with your dog or our employees.

No, there is no first-time clean-up fee, even if there has been more than one week of accumulation in your yard on our first visit.
Let’s talk about lawn service. We at MUCHO POOPO appreciate a well-manicured yard as much as anyone. It makes it so much easier for us to do a complete and thorough job when the grass has been cut short, and any leaves and fallen branches have been removed. Occasionally in summer, we’ll get complaints about our clean-ups, when it’s actually the result of inconsistent lawn maintenance. MUCHO POOPO will service your yard at least once a week, and we work through rain and other harsh conditions, where lawn companies do not. In fact, lawn companies are likely to come every other week, or even less frequently, depending on the weather. This means that the grass is sometimes too high for us to find the dog waste. We certainly want to do our best to fully clean up your yard, but sometimes the existing conditions make it almost impossible.
When the lawn company do cut the grass, it may reveal hidden dog poop that we couldn’t find, and this gives the impression that we at MUCHO POOPO are not doing our job. This is not the case: we are always there for you and want nothing better than to provide complete satisfaction. So, we ask for your understanding and would like to suggest that if you can keep your lawn cut on a steady schedule it will make everyone’s job easier and leave your yard in the best possible shape.
It's estimated that the average dog which weighs 35 lbs. will poop roughly 273 pounds of waste each year in your backyard, if you let it. That translates to you spending a ridiculous amount of time picking up poop yourself, especially when you could be doing other productive things around the house. We did mention that it's a great time for dog poop duty retirement, right?
We have found that some customers do in fact like to pick up the poop themselves, however, hate the nasty smell it creates in their personal trash can. Our Bucket Service allows you to place the dog waste in our bucket container with a lid. We come on whatever selected service plan & day you choose to change the bag out and haul the poop away. Simply place the bucket in a visible spot near the back gate, corner of the house, by the garage door etc. and we'll do our part.
For the fastest response, call our main number 757 738-8090 and let's talk about your needs. We can schedule a time to come see your property as well as meet the dog(s) as well! You won't need to be home, but we'll need access to the yard. We'll contact you while we're there & give you some rates for service. Or you can also use the contact page on our website, answer a few basic questions & we'll reach out to you for scheduling.
That depends on your lifestyle, poop tolerance level & budget. While the majority of our clients prefer cleanings 2x weekly, we might suggest only 1x a week for your yard. After seeing your yard or through the contact page we'll give you an exact price that lines up with our pricing plans. We want you to have the service that fits best for you.
